The fire, along with the victims, seems unstoppable in LA, and the death toll includes children as well.

As of January 13, 2025, the wildfires in Los Angeles have resulted in at least 24 fatalities and the destruction of over 12,000 structures. Approximately 150,000 residents have been evacuated. Governor Gavin Newsom has indicated that these fires could become the most costly natural disaster in U.S. history, with preliminary economic losses estimated between $135 billion and $150 billion.

The two largest fires, the Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire, have been particularly devastating. The Palisades Fire has consumed over 23,000 acres and is only 11% contained, while the Eaton Fire has burned approximately 14,000 acres. Both fires have caused significant property damage, including the loss of high-profile homes and landmarks.
In response to the crisis, the California National Guard has deployed 2,500 troops to assist firefighting efforts, and over 15,000 firefighters are actively working to contain the blazes. However, strong winds and dry conditions continue to pose challenges.

The community is facing significant hardships, but efforts are ongoing to provide support and resources to those affected by the wildfires.
