L*sbian couple trolled for looking like ‘mother and son’ reveal they’re raising money for baby essentials after undergoing £9,000 IVF treatment in Cyprus

Lauren Evens, 31, and her wife, Hannah, 29, are expecting triplets after undergoing IVF treatment.

However, the couple has been dealing with financial struggles and online trolling due to Hannah’s youthful appearance.

The couple, based in Surrey, had always planned to start a family. But they were shocked to learn that fertility treatment in the UK would cost £21,000. This high expense led them to look for affordable options abroad.

After some research, they found a £9,000 IVF package in Cyprus, including flights and treatment. Before traveling, Lauren and Hannah decided to get married to avoid legal complications, as Hannah would otherwise have had to adopt her own biological child. The wedding was planned in just six weeks, and they tied the knot in August 2024.

In September 2024, Lauren underwent the procedure in Cyprus. Hannah’s fertilized eggs were implanted in Lauren’s womb, and just three days later, they received the exciting news that Lauren was pregnant. At their six-week scan, they found out they were expecting triplet girls.

However, this joyous moment was followed by unexpected challenges. Hannah, a specialist engineer, was made redundant in January 2025, creating financial pressure. Now, the couple is trying to raise £3,000 for baby essentials like clothes and bottles, along with funds for travel and accommodation when the babies arrive in June.

Lauren, who already has two children from a previous relationship, shared that they’ve moved in with Hannah’s parents to save money for a bigger home that can accommodate their growing family.

On top of their financial worries, the couple faces constant trolling and misunderstandings in public. Lauren shared that people often mistake Hannah for a young boy and sometimes make offensive comments.

Despite the challenges, Lauren and Hannah remain excited about their journey to becoming parents. Lauren, who is considered a high-risk pregnancy, is scheduled to deliver the triplets via C-section at 34 weeks. They are now focusing on preparing for the arrival of their daughters.
