The LA fire conspiracy theories that are flooding the internet: From plot to protect P Diddy to a ‘direct energy weapon’ and drone cover-up

Recent wildfires in Los Angeles have caused devastation, with at least 24 deaths and 12,000 properties destroyed in just one week. As the fires continue, many online conspiracy theories have emerged, from protecting celebrities to political motives and even accusations of high-speed rail projects being linked to the fires.

One popular theory suggests that the fires were started to cover up scandals involving celebrities like P Diddy, who has faced allegations of abuse. Some claim that the wildfires were used to protect Diddy’s allies and destroy evidence, including tunnels supposedly leading to the Playboy Mansion. Despite these claims, Diddy’s mansion remained untouched, while many nearby homes were destroyed.

Another strange theory suggests that drones in New Jersey were being used to distract people from the fires in LA. Some people believe that the drone sightings over New Jersey were intentionally ignored to shift focus onto the California fires. This idea gained traction after Donald Trump mentioned spotting drones over his property.

A more bizarre theory suggests that the fires were caused by a direct energy weapon. Supporters of this theory point to the survival of palm trees while buildings burned, believing that it’s proof of an external weapon. However, experts have pointed out that palm trees are naturally harder to burn due to their moisture content.

Others have connected the wildfires to California’s high-speed rail project, claiming the fires cleared land for the new train routes. Despite fact-checkers disproving this, the theory persists online.

Smart meters have also been blamed for causing fires, with some saying that lithium batteries inside the meters can overheat and start fires. Critics of this idea say these claims are baseless, as smart meters are designed to be stable.

As firefighters battle the fires, wild conspiracy theories continue to spread, creating distractions and complicating relief efforts. Authorities are focusing on fighting the fires and saving lives, urging people not to fall for rumors.
