Los Angeles Wildfire 2025 Live | California Wildfire LIVE |

The recent wildfires in Los Angeles have garnered significant attention due to their severity and impact. As of January 12, 2025, the death toll has risen to 24, with 16 individuals still missing. The Eaton Fire has become the fifth-deadliest wildfire in California’s history, claiming 16 lives, while the Palisades Fire accounted for eight deaths. The fires have forced 150,000 people to evacuate, with 700 residents currently in shelters. Over 14,000 personnel, including firefighters from nine other states and Mexico, are aiding firefighting and recovery operations. The fires have devastated over 62 square miles, surpassing the area of San Francisco.

Firefighters are working tirelessly to contain the fires, with the Palisades Fire 11% contained and the Eaton Fire 27% contained. However, the situation remains challenging due to high winds and dry conditions. The National Weather Service has issued warnings for strong Santa Ana winds, which could exacerbate the fires.

In response to the crisis, approximately 1,000 additional troops have been deployed, bringing the total to 2,500 California National Guard members on-site. Governor Gavin Newsom emphasized the National Guard’s crucial role since the beginning of the disaster. Residents are being advised not to drink tap water due to concerns over potential contamination from the fires.
